Best Plant Protein out there!

Used to dread taking vegan protein powders because you can already expect that it’s going to taste like wet mushy carton — thinking about my past brands is already making me gag!

Now I look forward to this drink every morning! Ripe banana + 1 scoop and unsweetened almond milk is all it takes to jumpstart my day!

Good but very high in sodium

I have been enjoying the protein powders but it was quite late when I figured out that 500 of sodium is very high. I think you have to improve on that. Taste-wise, I think the vanilla-ness of the vanilla flavor is more noticeable on its smell, rather than its taste. Choco pie still remains my favorite but I'm afraid I would have to find another vegan protein powders with less sodium as I we have a background of kidney disease and I am afraid of that.

Hello there!

Thank you so much for sharing your honest thoughts, we appreciate it!

While the sodium content of your POD pea protein may seem high there’s nothing to worry about! It’s just a pinch of your daily sodium limit.

Relative to whey protein, the sodium content does seem greater but it’s actually still very low compared to other food products.

To compare:

- Sodium in a serving of POD: is approximately 360-500mg
- Sodium in a pack of instant ramen: is about 850mg per pack
- Sodium in a thick cut of spam: is 790mg
- And sodium in a tablespoon of Knorr seasoning: is 1000mg

But we'll take it into consideration regarding lowering the sodium content of our POD pea protein.

Thank you again for giving time in sharing your thoughts as this will greatly help, not only Wheyl, but the entire community as well!
