What's the difference between JUST whey protein and PRIME whey isolate?

An excellent question!

While both are natural dairy products derived from the cheese-making process, these two whey protein bases are processed differently.

Your JUST whey protein uses a concentrate base, while your PRIME whey isolate uses an isolate base.

A whey isolate base undergoes an ultra-filtration process leaving it with virtually no lactose at all! The fine filtration process also leads to higher proteinless carbs, and no fat – compared to its concentrate counterpart! At the same time, it omits the creamy texture that gives whey concentrate its milky reputation. So you can expect a lighter taste, too!

With your JUST whey protein, which isn't as finely filtered as PRIME whey isolate, it remains the more affordable option – which a lot of people prefer. Some even find it to be tastier due to the fat and lactose, albeit at low amounts! 😋

Truly, the choice between these two products is yours to make. There's no wrong option at all! ❤️

How can I enjoy my JUST whey protein?

How do I prepare whey protein?

To enjoy one serving, simply combine one full scoop with 6 to 8 ounces of cold water or milk. Then, quickly stir it in a glass or blend it using your shaker bottle and ta-da! ✨

Feel free to adjust the water to powder ratio to match your personal taste preference. 💗

Remember these for best results:

💧Add the powder after liquids

🌪 Give it a quick stir or 5 swift shakes

🚫 Never use hot liquids

When’s the best time to drink whey protein?

While protein shakes are typically recommended post-workout, feel free to enjoy them any time! ⏰

You can have some in the morning, before bedtime, or whenever you’re craving for a delicious guilt-free, high-protein treat. 😋

How many servings a day is suggested?

One serving a day should be good if you have other protein sources in your diet like meat, eggs, dairy, and other whole foods. 🍳

But on days when you feel like your protein consumption from whole foods is lower than usual, you can increase your whey supplementation to 2 or even 3 servings, as needed. 🥄

And remember, adequate protein is needed on both training days and rest days. Getting enough protein is essential for your body to continuously repair and build muscles! 💤

How much protein do I actually need per day?

Consistent research and studies recommend a consumption of 0.7 to 0.9 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight for active individuals. 🏋️‍♀️

To illustrate, a 100 lb. human will ideally be consuming 70 to 90 grams of protein per day from mixed food sources (meat, eggs, dairy, whey, or plant-based sources). 🍗

Can I still drink whey protein even if I don’t exercise often?

It's perfectly fine to enjoy whey protein whether or not you’re an active individual. After all, it's just an innocent dairy drink that's high in protein with no additives or ingredients that could adversely affect your body! 👌

Though if you want to take FULL advantage of whey protein and its benefits, being active is important! ✅

The reason being is that whey protein's primary purpose is to improve muscle synthesis and recovery – both of which are very helpful for those who exercise regularly! 🏃‍♀️

I’m trying to cut weight. Can I still drink whey protein?

Certainly! If you’re looking to cut fat, you can enjoy it as a meal or snack replacement to keep your sinful cravings away. 🙅‍♀️

Your JUST whey protein helps a lot with staying lean for a few good reasons:

😋 Extremely delicious!

I’m trying to gain weight. Can I still drink whey protein?

Of course! But do take note that your JUST whey protein doesn’t have a lot of calories on its own. 😮

You can easily turn it into a high-protein weight gainer by mixing it with high-calorie foods like whole milk, peanut butter, oats, and a lot more! It's tried and tested. 👍

What nutrients are found in my JUST whey protein?

Does JUST whey protein contain sugar?

Being a dairy product, whey protein contains naturally-occurring sugar in the form of lactose.  Technically, the 2 grams of carbs in a serving of your JUST whey protein is sugar, albeit in the form of milk sugar (lactose).

We kept the blend simple, all-natural, with no sugar added. Your JUST whey protein is sweetened by stevia only. 🍃

How about calcium?

While it's not printed on the label itself, our JUST whey protein does have some calcium in it. 🦴

You get about 115 milligrams of it per serving which is roughly 10-15% of the daily recommendation.

How about potassium?

You get about 155 milligrams per serving. For reference, the daily recommendation is 3,500-4,700 milligrams per day! 🍌

How about caffeine?

Our Mocha Java, Brown Boba, and Mighty Matcha flavors do contain caffeine! Each serving contains about 25-34 milligrams of caffeine. It's essentially equal to one-fourth cup of coffee! ☕️

Do I have to be mindful of any health or lifestyle concerns?

I’m lactose-intolerant. Can I still enjoy JUST whey protein?

A great thing about your JUST whey protein is that it uses a low-lactose whey concentrate! This makes it an awesome choice for those who are sensitive to lactose, which is a good number of our community. ❤️

Of course, we understand that there are varying levels of tolerance from person to person!

With that, here are some additional tips to enjoy your JUST whey protein if you're lactose intolerant:

⏱ Spacing out your servings. (such as taking 2 half servings at different times of the day instead of 1 full serving)

🍗 Taking your whey protein with other food.

🥘 Adding a scoop to your favorite recipes like protein oats, smoothies, protein pancakes, and more!

💊 Enjoy more probiotic-rich food like yogurt, kimchi, and pickles.

Note: If you want a whey protein option that has virtually no lactose – which is even friendlier for lactose-intolerant people – we suggest checking out our PRIME whey isolate line!

I have sensitive skin. Does JUST whey protein cause acne breakouts?

We understand how that's a common reaction from individuals with sensitive skin!

Don't worry! One special thing about our JUST whey protein is that it uses all-natural ingredients only. We believe this plays a huge role in limiting the common reactions like acne. 🙂

We've received great feedback from guys and gals who used to get bad breakouts from other brands! We heard their skin is loving our all-natural blend! ♥️

I’m a pregnant/breastfeeding mom. Is it safe to drink JUST whey protein?

Yes! Since we only used all-natural ingredients while skipping additives, it should be safe for you and the little one to consume whey protein with no side effects. After all, it’s a great way for you to easily consume the daily protein you and the little one need! Baby formulas often include whey protein, too. 🍼

As a little warning, avoid choosing flavors containing caffeine, such as Mocha Java, Brown Boba, and Mighty Matcha. ☺️

Of course, we understand that each pregnancy is different from another! Before consuming our products, we highly suggest checking in with your physician and pediatrician to be 100% sure.

Is JUST whey protein keto-friendly?

Yes! It’s low in carbohydrates (2 grams of carbs per serving), which means it should be a perfect fit in your nutrition plan if you’re practicing a ketogenic diet!

Is JUST whey protein soy-free and gluten-free?

We’re happy to let you know that your JUST whey protein is soy-free and gluten-free! 🎉

But like many other clean, healthy, and all-natural food products, there are trace amounts of soy lecithin in your JUST whey protein, too. ✨

We understand it might sound scary or impure, but soy lecithin is nothing to worry about at all! This natural lecithin is included as a result of the whey protein manufacturing process. It helps make your favorite whey protein easy to mix and super smooth. 🥄

The good news is that this soy lecithin is found in very little quantities only (less than 1% of the blend, almost nonexistent and hence not declared on the label since it doesn’t meet the FDA’s 5% threshold).

It’s not an allergen as well even if you are sensitive to soy, so you can be 100% worry-free. 🍃

Is JUST whey protein non-GMO?

Using mixed dairy sources, we can't claim that the whey protein base is 100% non-GMO!

What we can promise, though, is that we use all-natural ingredients only. 🍃

Is JUST whey protein rBTS-free OR rBGH free?

You’ll be happy to hear that our world-class dairy partner sources top quality rBTS-free and rBGH-free dairy! It’s easy to trust your dairy partner when they also happen to be one of the most famous cheese manufacturers in the world! 🧀

Are the cows 100% grass-fed?

The cows used for your whey protein concentrate base are not purely grass-fed. They enjoy a mixed diet! 🐮

I have other questions not covered in the previous sections!

I noticed there are black spots in my Clean Caramel bag! Is this normal?

Don’t worry! We understand the black spots look like they don’t belong, but they’re actually part of the natural caramel flavor extract we used to create your classic Clean Caramel whey protein. 🍮

Didn’t notice it before? It’s still not something to worry about! The black spots are more present in some batches, but overall, they’re nothing to worry about. They’re simply part of your sweet caramel experience.

Why is the powder finer for Clean Caramel, Brown Boba, and Banana Toffee?

We’re glad you noticed this! The natural caramel flavor extract used helps make the blend a lot finer than others. 🍮

This makes it easier to shake and mix into one delectable and smooth drink. Brown Boba and Banana Toffee also use a hint of caramel, thus, their powders are finer than usual.

We’re trying to re-create this experience with the rest of our whey protein flavors, too! 🐋

Why does my Ube Milk drink turn purple?

We added FDA-approved food coloring to help make your Ube Milk experience much more familiar.

Don’t worry, it’s 100% safe and natural! 🧪

Fun fact: This is Wheyl’s first time using food coloring for any of our protein powders! We wanted Ube Milk to be extra special.

I lost my scooper! How can I measure one serving?

Don't sweat it! You can perfectly manage without it. 👌🏼

3 heaping tablespoons will do the trick for one serving of JUST whey protein! It’s tried and tested! 🥄
